What is it? GBL is converted to GHB shortly after entering the body.

Is GBL illegal?

Legal status: GBL and GHB are both Class C drugs (although GBL is available for legitimate use in industry). However if a person supplies or possesses them knowing or thinking that they will be swallowed and ingested then they are committing an offence. Possession can get you up to two years in prison and/or an unlimited fine. Supplying someone else, even your friends, can get you 14 years in jail and/or an unlimited fine

What are common GBL effects to look out for?

How it can make you feel: Both GBL and GHB produce feelings of euphoria and can reduce inhibitions. GBL effects can also include sleepiness.

The risks: GBL and GHB are very dangerous, they can both lead to unconsciousness, coma and even death. They are particularly dangerous if mixed with alcohol.
